Welcome from our New Junior Coordinator

Hi to all Jets Junior Families and indeed the broader Jets community.

It’s a great pleasure to welcome you all to the 2019 season at the Unley Jets, my first official function as the new junior coordinator. I must make a mention of the incredible work of Brenton Milewski who has left the Junior Jets program in fantastic shape. Brenton has been brilliant in ensuring that I have most of the information that I need and has been pretty accepting (so far) of me having him as number 1 spot on my speed dial! I am feeling a lot more confident knowing that he is sticking around to manage the Registrations for the juniors for a little bit longer!

Also, a huge thank you to those of you who have reached out with offers of support and to provide me with snippets of wisdom! There have been some absolute pearls!

To those who I have not had a chance to meet yet, a very big hello and nice to meet you! I have actually been with the Unley Jets for the past 4 years with boys in both the Under 13 and Under 11 squads and as a team manager for most of that time. My work background is primarily in marketing, having been with Coca-Cola for 10 years (sales, community, branding and sponsorships) and now in the education system, managing marketing and building projects at a school in the northern suburbs.

I consider myself a little bit lucky to be surrounded by my passionate Jets family, who have been particularly supportive of me in this new role.

I thought I’d share some items of importance as below.

SEASON 2019!
Hopefully you have all had a good break and the players are all refreshed and re-booted for a cracking new season of footy.

There is already lots happening at the club with the Under 16.5 group starting pre-season this week, transfers requests and registrations coming through thick and fast and heaps of behind the scenes planning/handovers occurring.

Junior Coordinator – Jo Wright – that’s me. My job is to act as the conduit between our families, supporters, members, Board and affiliations and to ensure that we meet all of our legal and contractual obligations. I register and manage our squads with the support of the team managers and hopefully coordinate a whole lot of back of house ‘stuff’ to ensure that everyone can contribute to the ongoing success of The Jets.

Darren Trengove – with all his SANFL connections, Darren has come on to help me out by managing our Junior Coaching team for the 2019 season! Darren is our go to contact for all things related to juniors coaching, training, support and accreditations.

Niki Robinson – Niki has come on board to help me with managing the administration relating to the Jets girls’ teams. Niki will also be coaching the U12 Girls team again in 2019.

We would love to see as many players as possible on Registration Day, Sunday 3rd February 10am – 1pm at Kingswood Oval. Please ensure that you have this day firmly marked in your diary! This is a great opportunity to meet new families and players and re-connect with our Jets community after the off-season. While we’re talking registration…

2019 FEES
Good news! Junior Fees for 2019 have remained unchanged since last season .
U8-U11 $280
U12 – U16.5 $300
The Junior Registration Info page on the website has all the details. https://unleyfootballclubinc.teamapp.com/custom_pages/1648-junior-registration-and-subs-info

Once again, I look forward to the year ahead and continuing to cement our junior program as the benchmark in the SANFL Competition. With that said, onwards and upwards! Here’s to a great season in 2019! Go Jets!
