Player Calcutta kicks off 2019 Fundraising Activities

2019 sees some great new fund-raising initiatives as we seek to add further to our sustainability objectives and enhance our on-field programs.

Kicking off the season, and in place of the traditional season launch, our Director of Footy and former Crow Michael “Dogga” Doughty will host a “Player Calcutta Auction” after the first home game, Round 1, 6th April. Long time Jets sponsor Stephen Venn will be the guest auctioneer.

With the aim to raise $10k plus, syndicates or individuals can purchase one of 8 groups of Jets Senior players (as selected by coaches* after the first trial game) and amass points based on best player voting over the 18 rounds of the season. The winning group will take home 50% of the total prize pool, with 2nd getting 30% and 3rd 20%.
In addition, there’ll be weekly prizes of $100 TA vouchers for the best performing team of the round thanks to our Hospitality Partner, The TA Hotel.

All the details can be found here:

So get your syndicates organised and make sure you’re at the club after the game on the 6th of April to bid for your “dream team”. (*Coaches are ineligible to enter).

Our traditional Ladies Day event takes place on the 27th of April during our R3 match versus Sacred Heart. This year’s theme is “Club Copacabana” with Jet Park being “the hottest place south of Havana” for the afternoon marquee event. Tickets for an afternoon of food, drink and merriment are $35 and available here along with all the details:

Following the game the activities will move upstairs for the after party with DJ’s and live entertainment till late.
This is a very popular function and the highlight of the social calendar.

In addition to the Calcutta and Ladies Day events we’re also looking forward to advising you of the details of other fund-raising initiatives in the coming weeks, including; Monthly Club Night and Lucky Draw, Quiz Night 2019, this year with a new format and quiz master.
