ATTENTION ALL FEMALE FOOTBALLERS – U14 & 16 DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM & SENIOR WOMEN COME N’ TRY INFORMATION
U14 & 16 GIRLS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM:
Your Club is excited to be running with a seriously impressive and highly comprehensive program for some of our female players in preparation for the 2020 season.
Our female players in Under 14 & 16 age groups will be provided with a significant skills development and personal well-being program that that will benefit each and every player as well as the broader playing group. Unique to the Jets, it is an exceptionally exciting development for the girl’s program and we believe it is unparalleled by any other club.
The success of this program, due in part to the great work done by our 2019 coaches, Ian and Tom, will allow the club to move away from the former training/game day model used by the U14 and U16 girls teams this year in favour of a more advanced model in line with the boys’ program.
Michael Solomon will be leading this development program and he brings a wealth of knowledge in AFL coaching and strategy as well as solid knowledge across sports science. This program is expected to be more broadly beneficial to our players and will focus on ensuring increased skills, fitness, player safety and overall well-being.
The program will be run over three sessions as follows:
Session 1 – Saturday, 23 November – Theory and Skills Drills (Kicking) – Registration open at 11.30am, Mercedes College
Session 2 – Saturday, 30 November – Theory and Skills Drills (Hand and Ground) – Time and location TBA
Session 3 – Saturday 7 December – Theory (including introduction to individual development plans) and Scratch Match (depending on numbers) – Time and location TBA.
This is the first time that we have been able to run this type of program and we are super excited at the results that the girls will achieve from this opportunity.
